Jordan Zimmermann continues to impress
To my beloved Washington Nationals,
Thanks for the amazing start to the 2012 season. I’m having a blast and of course enjoyed last night’s 3-2 win over the Houston Astros.
Would it be too much to ask for one more thing? Could you please score more runs before Jordan Zimmermann leaves the game? He’s been pitching so well, I’d like to see him record a win.
Thanks.
Last night’s scorebook entry for Zimmermann? An efficient 86 pitches to complete 7 innings while recording 3 strikeouts, no walks, 4 hits, and only one earned run. Awesome.

Let’s go Nats!
It’s a fangirl’s job to be optimistic on Opening Day, but this year is different. There’s more optimism in and around Nats Town, including among experts who are predicting playoff baseball—maybe even a World Series appearance—for the 2012 Washington Nationals. Sign me up for that.
I’m expecting greatness from homegrown aces Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmermann, as well as improvement up and down the roster. And who knows, maybe we’ll even see Teddy win this year? At the Nats-Red Sox game on Tuesday, I got the impression Stephen and Jordan were pulling for everyone’s favorite racing President.
