Craig Stammen, 3 batters, 10 pitches
In the top of the 10th, Craig Stammen struck out 3 Cincinnati Reds with 10 pitches. Damn!
Let’s ignore the little detail that we shouldn’t have been playing a 10th inning, because one upside of Brad Lidge’s blown save was seeing Stammen handle the Reds as follows:
- Willie Harris strikes out swinging (called strike, called strike, swinging strike)
- Drew Stubbs strikes out swinging (foul, called strike, swinging strike)
- Zack Cozart called out on strikes (called strike, called strike, ball, called strike)
According to Gameday, Stammen mixed it up with 3 fastballs, 4 curveballs, and 3 sliders. Nice job, Craig.
